Nalgene® syringe filters with PES (polyethersulfone) membrane are specially designed to sterilize small volumes of aqueous liquids using a syringe. PES membranes offer lower protein binding, lower extractables, no wetting agents and higher flow rates than cellulosic membranes. They can be used with both standard slip-fit and Luer-Lok® syringes and accept standard hypodermic needles. Nalgene PES membranes and syringe filters have good chemical resistance to aqueous solutions, glycols and alcohols. They are not recommended for use with esters, ethers, ketones, strong acids, or aliphatic, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons or their derivatives. Nalgene syringe filters are preassembled, disposable and certified sterile, non-cytotoxic and non-pyrogenic.
