Thickness of the flange on this 3-leg 3 prong / 3 leg  stopper is actually the typical thickness for lyophilization freeze drying applications. We call this the "thick" version only when comparing to our thin flanged 3-leg stopper sold elsewhere on this website. 

20mm stoppers are for serum vials with a 13mm hole opening and 20mm outiside rim to rim diameter.
